Praise and worship, flowed from David's lips. David learned to give praise to God for each thing in his life. His words are still as beautiful today, as they were when they were first written. His love for God is woven through-out the pages of the Psalms. His words tell of God's power and majesty.
Psalms 92:1&2, It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O Most High; To show forth thy loving kindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night.
If we set aside a few moments in the morning and then again at night, to praise God, it will change our lives. Much of our prayer time is spent in requesting the things that we need. These are valid and important prayers, but we need to spend time praising the Father and thanking Him for the everyday miracles in our lives. Thank Him for the miracle of His saving grace. Thank Him for His unending love to mankind. Thank Him for sending His love to earth, through His Son, Jesus Christ.
Psalms 104:1&2 Bless the Lord, O my soul. O Lord my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honor and majestry, Who coverst thyself with light as with a garment; who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain.
David sang songs of praise to God for creation, for His love,His mercy, His goodness, and His grace. As we study David's words we realize that there is power in praising God. It also heals and cleanses our spirit, when we spend time worshiping at the foot of the throne. There are very few things that we have that are worthy to give to God, but praise is a precious gift. It is a time spent with our Father, thanking Him for the goodness and mercy that He has seen fit to share with this world. The majesty of God is reflected back to Him through our prayers of praise. God's mighty power and wisdom are all around us. Spending a few moments each day, thanking God for His presence in our lives, will strengthen our daily walk. David kept close to God through prayer and praise. Our lives are busy, but prayer takes only a few minutes to tell God of our love for Him; to thank Him and praise Him.
Psalms 150:1&2 Praise ye the Lord in His sanctuary; praise Him in the firmament of His power. Praise Him for His mighty acts; praise Him according to His excellent greatness.
David shows the importance of praise by ending the Psalms with these words, Psalms 150:6 Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord, Praise ye the Lord. My gift to God, is the gift of praise. Father, I lift my heart to You in praise, and thank You for Your love. I praise You for Your tender mercy, sent from Heaven above.
